The musical style of Ego Fall is a merging of nu-metal, melody death metal, and elements of industrial metal. The six young artists from China's Inner Mongolia, due to their powerful expression are the domestic leader in nu-thrash. Their music, known for roaring lead vocals, deep melody, and irresistible strength, is sweeping the Asian heavy metal music scene.
Vocals--WANG Bin:
Wang Bin is well known in the music scene for his mastery of a range of vocal styles. He can roar and can sing. Having been in dozens of bands, he is very experiences and creates a violent and unusual scene at shows.
Vocals--YU Chao
Although small in stature, Yu Chao's presence is sheering. As equally crazy during rehearsal as in performance, he was once the band's keyboard player, and then dashed to the front line to serve as a lead singer. He is magnetic, both when violent and when gentle.
Lead Guitar--SUN Bo Ri:
Founder of Ego Fall, Sun Bo Ri is responsible for compiling the songs and riffs!
Guitar--WANG Yang:
Wang Yang is known in the band for his conscientious and precise playing. Favoring the distinct melodies of death metal he has added a fresh element to the music style of the band.
Bass--CHAO LuoMeng:
Chao LuoMeng is the core of the band. All of the melodies of the songs come from his hands. While usually showing off his proficiency on the bass, he has also mastered the accordion and the Mongolian horse-head fiddle.
Drum--LIU ShiWei:
Liu Shi Wei is the band’s driving force. He is diligent about practicing, and has a style you have to hear to believe.
Ego Fall’s first incarnation as a band was born in the year 2000. Then named The Subconscious, the band featured King Yang as lead guitar and vocals, and played heavy, grunge inspired music. In 2001, King Yang left the band, and lead singer Bin Wang entered. Under his influence, the band took on more metal influences. In the fall of the same year, the band moved to Beijing. As all bands in China do, they hoped to find an audience that could relate to their music.
In 2004, the band renamed themselves as 颠覆M. Literally meaning “Self Subversion” the band uses Ego Fall as their English name. The band has met with great success in the big city, and has been featured at every bar in Beijing!
At present, the band is gaining strength in China’s new tide of metal. Lighting up the stage of every bar they reach, with their pluralistic music, they have received great media attention. They are well known and praised by many of China’s most famous underground bands. Due to the praise they are receiving, Ego Fall is reaching towards the goal of internationalizing their music, carrying on their efforts with unsurpassed hard strength!
